Vienna - transport / underground Q - Anyone been on it ??

I need to get from the airport to the Landstrasse district.. does the underground run from the airport ? Are there any stops near ?
Otherwise, can anyone reccomend a form of transport, I don't want to take a cab as they won't have child seats....

I can help, this is easy. There are 2 rail links from the airport to the city and as luck would have it both go to the stop called Landstrasse Wien Mitte. The more expensive (and only 10 mins faster) option is the CAT (City Airport Train) www.cityairporttrain.com/home/. This departs at 05 & 35 mins past the hour.
Alternatively follow the signs to the Bahnhof and take the S7 train. There is a train at 09 mins past each hour (heading for Wolkersdorf) and one at 39 mins past the hour (heading for Floridsdorf).
There is a good taxi transfer service which you can book online (in English) for a flat rate of 29 euros, you can specify a car seat but it tends only to be a booster seat. www.airportdriver.at. Just wondered - we are staying at the Imperial Riding School hotel, do you know if it's any good ? It is close to the wedding reception we are going to. But is the main shopping area in walking distance ?? It looks it on the map..

I know where the hotel is but not any persoanl experience. You'd be best to get the S7 (S-Bahn) from the airport and get off at Renweg (stop before Landstrasse Wien Mitte), the hotel is just down the road form the S-Bahn station. Yes, you can walk to the centre from there or take a tram/bus.
