Ideas for cheap family sun holiday...

Looking to do our first family sun holiday (lower budget) in probably may/june next year. But unsure where to go....

Criteria needs to be;
-Ideally a couple of hours or so flight
-Family friendly- suitable for 3,7yos and 2x adults in 30s.
-Sunny, warm weather
-Family fun things to do other than just sitting round a pool/on a beach all day every day (although would do this some of the time) so maybe waterparks, zoos, other sightseeing which is family friendly.
-Probably looking to spend £500-600 pp with a free child place for little one.

Jet 2 is bringing up the usual Spanish resorts for decent prices, but other than Tenerife wasn't sure if any of these have much culture/sightseeing/fun activities?

I went to C'an Picafort in Majorca aged 18 and found it really boring! I was used to busy cultural sightseeing holidays with my parents, but this was literally tacky British bars playing the football, a beach, and sitting about by the pool, with abit of hotel entertainment in the evenings. The friend's family I went with enjoyed all that but not my sort of thing.

In contrast, I really liked Turkey....still beachy but lots more to see and do, but not sure if the flight is abit long for a 3yo, and how cheap it would be.

Many thanks

You could try looking at Skyscanner to see where you can get cheap flights for your dates and then look for accommodation. Maybe one of the big Eurocamp sites in Italy or South of France where there will be lots going on for kids, but hopefully cheaper as not peak season. Places like Union Lido or Ca Savio have rentals for about £500 for a week in May.

Parks in Languedoc seem to be even cheaper if you can fly to Perpignan or Beziers?

What about the Costa dorada. Plenty for kids to do including port aventura. Tarragona is lovely, plus you could do a day trip to Barcelona.

There is tons to do on Majorca, we stayed in Ca'n Picafort and while the town is not the most exciting, we had a car and did lots of trips.

But Majorca isn't cheap.

May/June can still be a bit fresh and we actually had a 4 days of rain and 17 degrees in May half-term when we were on Majorca. It's definitely not 100% sun guarantee.

If you want definite sun, you need the Canaries or maybe Cyrprus. Yes, a lot longer flight though.

Maybe Greece? Bit longer flight time but somewhere like Corfu or Zante only about 3 hours and there are non tacky resorts on both islands. Or Kefalonia which is same flight time but much less ‘Brits abroad’

There's lots to do in Benalmedena, which is close to Malaga www.sunsetbeachclub.com/blog/holiday-tips/things-to-do/top-10-things-to-do-with-kids-in-benalmadena/
