Holiday Rental - should we get the annex too?

Booked a holiday villa that sleeps 8. Three bedrooms in main house and one in an annex that has its own kitchen. The price is the same regardless of how many bedrooms used.

There are only four of us. We wanted to put mum and dad in the annex and we'd be in the main house. This way they have some privacy and so do we.

The holiday rental owner has asked do we really need the annex as well as there are only four of us.

Of course you should if the price is the same.

If the annex is included in the price then I don't see what the problem is. Other than the owners being lazy. If you didn't use the annex, then the annex wouldn't need cleaning I guess, but if they'd charge the same to a bigger group who used the annex, then cleaning the annex is charged in that fee anyway presumably.

Is it possible they effectively throw in the annex as a freebie if you rent the house, but actually rent it separately if the house users don't want it, and are annoyed you're preventing them doing this? e.g. with silly money:
House = £100 a week
House and annex = £100 a week
Annex = £25 a week

So they get £100 for you to use the whole space, but could actually make £125 if you all went in the house and they could rent the annex separately? Doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong, but could see why it would annoy the owners somewhat.
