Has anyone been? We looked at flights to Copenhagen but we're expensive. Looking to have a little Christmas break away 26th December for a few nights. Any suggestions?

I live in Copenhagen and Aalborg is a VERY long way. You'd be better flying to Aarhus, Billund or even Hamburg. Aalborg is beautiful though.

Aalborg is a nice little town, but I wouldn't go in winter and not between Christmas and New Year as there will be little to do. In summer it's a great place to wander around and there are plenty of beaches and nature close by - but winter is not the time to visit.

Instead, look at Aarhus. You can fly to either Aarhus airport or Billund - both involve a bus ride into the city. Billund is a bit further away, but there are better bus comnnections into Aarhus. Aarhus is Denmark's second city, an old Viking settlement, with some great museums and good shopping (winter sales usually start on 26th Dec.) and restaurants. People from Aarhus are also down to earth and they have a sense of humour - as seen in the pedestrian traffic lights
