UK 40th

Looking for somewhere to go for my 40th in April next year. Ideally UK based and it’ll be for me, my husband and our two young children (7 and 3.)

Recommendations for places to stay?
Family days out near by?
Places to eat?

The kids are very active so needs to be fun and busy!

Anywhere in the UK? Any particular interests or preferences?

We are in the midlands so ideally a couple of hours drive but happy to think of anywhere really!

We all enjoy days out where there is plenty to do for the children. Maybe National Trust properties with a decent park or a zoo/adventure farm.

Somewhere to stay over that maybe has a hot tub or pool for us to use would be ideal.

Hard to actually think how to make it a bit special for my big birthday but I would really like to do something involving the kids.

Lakeside Hotel in the Lake District is a bit special, family-friendly www.lakesidehotel.co.uk/rooms/family-choice/ and very well placed for lots of days out

Could try Bluestone in Pembrokeshire. It has Folly Farm close by and Wild Lakes for wake boarding or the inflatable lake. For my 40th we went to a forest commission site near Monmouth and had a lodge with a hot tub. It was lovely.

Have a look at The Tawny - it’s Staffordshire so close to the Peak District and super close to Alton Towers and Peak Wildlife Park.
The hotel itself is gorgeous and will feel special for your birthday.
