Costa Adeje Tenerife -Hard Rock Hotel - area with nice restaurants

We have just arrived in Costa adeje and I've made a massive error! Last year we stayed in an apartment which was a short walk (25 mins from the beach). We enjoyed going to the restaurants along the coast in the evening and choosing somewhere nice to eat.

This year I booked an apartment close to the beach thinking it would be in a good location to walk out to the restaurants on a night but it seems like it's miles away! It's a private host air b&b and so I can't ask for advice! I think I've made a massive cock up and didn't realise how big the town is - it's like a massive city! I'm so stupid!

We are cheap skates (well being careful at the moment due to mortgage being so high) so not staying in any of the nice hotels hence doing it cheaper in an apartment but also like to eat out hence not going in an all inclusive.

Does anyone know if we might be near some areas with restaurants on a night to walk to or will we have to get cabs? I can tell you we are literally right next door to the Hard Rock hotel so that tells you the location.

I checked and we are 18 mins in a car from Siam water park - well last year we literally walked to the water park! It took us half an hour to walk it.

Any advice would be much appreciated - everyone is now looking at me and wondering what I've booked!

looks like you could get the 447 bus to the Fanabe area in costa adeje which has lots of reasonably priced bars and restaurants

Taxi from there to Siam park will cost €18-did it on Saturday myself. La Caleta is a nice area in between the two-small restaurants along a rocky shore.

NCTDN · 28/10/2024 20:28

Siam park run a shuttle bus don't they.

Kangarude · 28/10/2024 20:40

I have stayed at the Hard Rock and I don’t recall there being much within walking distance for an evening. Agree with PP to get a bus into Fanabe.
La Caleta has a few places and Playa Del Duque but they are probably not suitable if you are trying to stick to a budget. Hope you find something and have a good time

Thank you. That's so helpful. Yes I've worked out it was the Fanabe area we ate out at last year and where we would like to head to in an evening. We ate tonight in La caleta which was nice..

Could you hire bikes? I'm not sure if you can cyle along the sea front back to Costa Adeje?

I looked at the Hard Rock hotel once but decided against because of location. Tip for the future is to look where you are going on google street and have a virtual walkabout round the area.

bittertwisted · 29/10/2024 14:46

Roca negra sunset club on the sea front by the hard rock was gorgeous last tilme I stayed at the hard rock

Ineedanewsofa · 29/10/2024 14:54

Edited as I mixed up my Hard Rock locations 🙈

Madamlulu · 29/10/2024 15:05

Hiring bikes would have been an option but the route on bikes is not great.

We literally couldn't stay there. Major cock up and a costly one. I checked out out and in to a new place which meant we won't get a refund. Just happy to be in new place now. Honestly the apartment complex was terrible and it would have been a rubbish holiday that we have looked forward to so much!

Thanks for the tip on Google maps! I won't make that mistake ever again.

Don't beat yourself up, I've done this before 😩
In my experience the financial hit is less painful than being miserable and wasting precious time together

Gastropod · 29/10/2024 15:18

We stayed at the H10 Atlantic sunset which is right near there.

Had dinner twice at the "Meson bistro" which is right by the sea near there, a short walk from the Hard Rock. The staff were super friendly, had lovely tapas meals there. Enjoyed it so much we went back the next night. It's near the Roca Negra mentioned by a PP above.

Thank you so much ! Glad I am not the only one!

I hate wasting money so much especially as we are being so careful lately but you are so right and I 100% do regret booking the first place but 100% don't regret checking out and in to a new place!

Good for you OP. I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday. Don't spoil it by dwelling on the mistake and the cost.
