Recommendations for Croatia? (Locations and companies)

I’m hoping to travel to Croatia next summer. It’ll be a solo trip, just me. Ideally, I want a hotel with sea view, easy walk to a nearby town (I love a promenade!) and plenty of sunbeds.

Any recommendations of particular parts of Croatia to visit, or companies to book through?

Thank you!

The islands in the Kvarner Gulf, (but not the mainland cities, too busy, well for me at any rate).

I went to Split.. it was great, interesting, good nightlife, nice harbour loads of yachts…it was summer, I think June, and the heat was unbearable in the afternoon.

Plus it was so crowded as it is popular as a G of T destination.

It’s a good base tho to get the ferries to the islands (beautiful and a bit cooler) and also krka national park….if I went again I wouldn’t go in summer however.

Rovinj is lovely, and most of the hotels are out of town.

Islands near Split are lovely, Bol (on Brac Island) has a gorgeous tree lined path from Zlatni Rat (Croatia's most famous beach) along the coast down to the town which was lovely. Island Hvar also easy to reach by ferry is lovely, we were in Starigrad (i'd recommend the hotel we stayed in Valamar Places) but I think Hvar town is bigger and also meant to be lovely. A bit of island hopping with a little time in Split? (As someone else says, Split was very busy and hot, but meant to have great nightlife).

Hubby and I spent a luxurious week on Lopud island. There's only one hotel and the staff are great. It's very very easy to walk into the town we did it every day. There would be no problem doing a solo holiday there

I don't go anywhere near Split. Your idea sounds much more like the islands. Look at Losinj, Rab and Pag.

I went to Croatia in the summer. A couple of days in Dubrovnik (small Airbnb in the walls), then a ferry to Korcula, where we stayed on a resort with walking distance to the town (Port 9 resort).

It was incredible. All of it. More expensive than I planned for, but really amazing scenery, food and culture. Would highly recommend Korcula. It's called the mini Dubrovnik. It's very beautiful, with incredible coastline. Lots of activities on the island and some amazing restaurants.

Happened upon this picture from a Korcula FB group earlier today and it sums it up in one go!

Another vote for Rovinj.

It's not near the coast but if you can take in Plitvice Lakes they are very beautiful. Could break your journey there for a couple of nights if you fly into Zagreb, but get an Air BnB and see if you can find a local to help you out with tickets so you don't have to queue for ages.

Hotel Croatia in Cavtat has lovely sea view rooms and you can walk into cavtat for a drink by the water or to look round market stalls shops or the church. There's water taxis to Dubrovnik for an outing.

Thank you very much! I’m not sure you’ve helped me narrow it down, but you’ve definitely confirmed that Croatia is where I want to go.

Hotel Supetar in Cavtat. It's a boutique hotel that makes you feel so welcome, fabulous food and pool right on a promenade. Water taxis or buses to Dubrovnik if you wanted to pop there for an evening but quiet enough to escape. Only 20 mins from the airport.

Hotel More in Lapad Dubrovnik. Amazing setting, beautiful sea view and sunsets and a lovely walk along the promenade into the town (bus to Dubrovnik city)
