Just a quick word of advice for UK Passport holders travelling from Faro Airport. Having flown from there 5 times this year usually there is a long queue for UK passengers but yesterday was the worst I have seen it yet. I very nearly missed my flight and I'm certain that a few people actually did.
From what I overheard from the Flight Despatcher - the problem was particularly bad mid-morning on a Weds because several UK departures were scheduled around the same time.
Immigration were very strict, not allowing any late passengers through the queues as they were probably as fed up as the passengers. Ditto the passengers on the later flights - no sympathy.
Rather than arrive 2 hours before departure, I recommend at least 3 hours before if you want to be safe. Even with hand luggage only, best arrive earlier too.
I'm not sure if any other days/times are as bad but.....
