Prague ‘must do’

Femalefootyfan · 15/10/2024 13:03

We have four days in Prague early next month and there’s so much information out there, I’m getting confused so what are the ‘must do’s?’ Two adults, 60/61, reasonably fit, happy to walk most places but happy to use whatever public transport is best.
Thanks in advance

Lucky you, Prague is gorgeous! Definitely visit Prague Castle and do the tour - the history is fascinating and awe inspiring. Walk around and see the astronomical clock, Wenceslas Square and the Jewish cemetery. The pils is great buy avoid the beer tours and find and old traditional kelder and try the schnitzel. Avoid tourist traps and sweet/ice cream shops and hold your purse close. Good walking shoes are a must! Enjoy!

A trip out here to this brewery/pub is well worth it

It's only a few stops on the tram.
I'd also recommend the funicular railway up Petrin hill the view from the top is worth it.
If you want the true Czech experience you must eat here

If you're a drinker try their beer brandy it's rather good.

Aside from the city itself approximately 40 mins out of Prague in Kutna Hora, where you will find Sedlec Ossuary, it's a UNESCO world heritage site. There are are couple of palaces within east reach of Prague too Karlstejn and Konopiste, I've not been to either but heard good things.
