I'm wondering whether you have the option to purchase alcohol on board, like a bottle of wine? TIA!

You will be offered alcohol before and with the meal, and can request additional drinks when you'd like them - the service is usually very good.

I did London to Singapore with Singapore Airlines a few times, but not in the last 5 years. Alcohol was always free (including cocktails ;) ).

That's interesting, thanks! So if you want a few wines in between bar service, you can just ask for it? 😁

If you Google SA wine and dine options it shows you what complimentary food and alcoholic and non alcholohc drinks are available for each class of travel

I've never flown long haul and been asked to pay for more wine!

Singapore Airlines are very good, and I certainly don't remember there being an issue with asking for more drinks.

Thanks. I've looked at the menu, so I can see what we are having. I just enjoy several wines on Long haul, it helps me to sleep!

Many years ago but I was 17 then. Still to this day the best airline I’ve flown with. Food was very good - the only negative I found back then was that the cabin crew were up and down offering food / snacks / drinks constantly! Even when everyone was trying to sleep 😂.

I love SA for flying. Last time I flew from
the UK to Singapore they offered pre meal drinks and then drinks with the meal service, I don’t remember any more service apart from breakfast but you can always ask if you want something.

It's not useful to you but last time I flew with AirNZ they had a menu screen on which you could just order what you wanted and they’d bring it to your seat! All free drinks and snacks, unless you wanted a premium Champagne or something like that, which did have an extra charge.

Flew LHR to Singapore last November and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were complimentary. One of the best airlines I’ve flown with, they really look after you!

We will be flying with Singapore airlines next year so can I ask if they provide headphones/earphones for the onboard entertainment? Thank you.

Topseyt123 · 15/10/2024 18:20

It was 31 years ago, but we flew with them for our honeymoon. They provided us with a bottle of champagne and a celebration cake. 🤠

Good airline. I'd go with them again if going in that direction.

Yes they will. All airlines that have in-seat screens/entertainment will supply headphones.

Georgyporky · 16/10/2024 09:20

The best airline I've flown with!
Flying SIN to LHR tomorrow and looking forward to free drinks and good food.

Anawi · 16/10/2024 09:24

Singapore airlines are my favourite. I've done the Nz-UK quite a lot of times and they are still my preference to fly with. You can't request drinks whenever you like with no extra cost. My son was in his element earlier this year when we flew with them, snacks and drinks on tap!

Alltheleavesonthetreesarefalling · 16/10/2024 09:34

Singapore airlines is a full service airline, which means all your food & drink is factored into your fare. (nothing is free, you have already paid for it)

You pay for food and drink on LCC (Low Cost Carriers such as Easy Jet etc).

You will be served pre food drinks, then drinks with meals (inc water) however you can ask for drinks in-between service, and crew may do a drinks service during the flight.

To the poster asking about headphones, yes you will get headphones, and a blanket and pillow.

StampOnTheGround · 16/10/2024 09:35

Singapore Airlines are my favourite too - they'll top up your wine whenever you fancy!

Worth having your own with a standard cable that plugs into the airline socket as airline disposable headphones are poor quality. (I realised this on the way out, so bought headphones in Singapore for the way back.)

There is a huge selection of films so you might review what is available a few days before (list is on SA website) so you know what you plan to watch before getting on the plane.

If you are then flying on to, say Australia, it may be worth knowing that there is a hotel airside with a swimming pool. It is not that expensive to pay to spend a couple of hours by the pool, swim, shower etc A nice way to spend transit time. Equally not far from the airport is the Changi Prison Museum. Little known but truly moving. There is a bus directly from the airport. A big contrast to the consumer paradise that is airport shopping.

Singapore Slings on board are great and all free!

Anawi · 16/10/2024 09:40

Oh and sign up as a krisflyer member, even if you won't fly regularly or accrue points and then you can sign into free WiFi on the plane as well as having the in-flight entertainment!

I hope that's the case for all their flights now I've said it. It certainly was for all our legs to/from NZ via Singapore earlier this year.
