Travel Insurance on A Flight - Is it worth it?

Exactly that. Is it worth it in the end? I want to go to Bosnia next Easter with my dad. We are both in good health.

Travel insurance is an extra 30 euro. Is it worth it? Do they pay out easily should something go wrong?

It will also cover you in Bosnia.

So it covers us medically in Bosnia even though we're flying into Croatia? I probably should get it.

Look up the price of repatriating you if you are injured or die. That might help make your mind up.

BoundaryGirl3939 · 14/10/2024 12:32

Okay. That's made my mind up.

As ever on these threads, the question is, can you afford a long-term hospital stay and/or medical evacuation if things go very wrong?

We know someone who had a serious traffic accident within hours of arriving abroad. The bill for emergency surgery, stabilisation of a broken back and flight back to the UK six weeks later was in the hundreds of thousands.

Ah, I see you've already decided!

Follow-up thought -- do check your medical records and your dad's to make sure you have accurately answered any questions for the insurance.

I dont have health insurance in my country of residence. My dad does though. This shouldn't impact my needs abroad should something go wrong?
