Easter 2025 - east coast America, Japan, or somewhere else

We haven't done much travelling with our kids and now they are 8 and 10, we want to do a bigger holiday at Easter next year - 2 and a half weeks

Trouble is I am a bit overwhelmed at where to start! We have a budget of up to 10k

Torn between NYC and Boston, and then perhaps driving up through Vermont to Canada

Or going to Japan and travelling round a few different areas - tokoyo and Disney would be on the list

Any advice v welcome and what do I need to consider? How do we make the decision as they are such different holidays!

Japan is wonderful at that time of year.

£10k for four people is at the more budget end of the spectrum, but not unrealistic for Japan. I’d imagine that flights to the US would be somewhat cheaper, but aside from that, your money should go a lot further in Japan.

US east coast can still be quite fresh in April, it depends what kind of weather you like.

We looked at it as a combination Caribbean and NY but ended up doing 10 days Barbados alone in the end.

I'd recommend Japan over NYC or Boston. I imagine older kids would get more out of NYC and Boston, and navigating NYC would be annoying as the transit is dreadful and everywhere is so busy and cramped. Plus the weather is very hit or miss that time of year!

Oh thankyou all - all great points to consider
