Hi we have just booked to go on the Queen in August next year. I have heard from a friend who is on one now, Cunard has got a lot less formal. Could some kind soul please hit me up with labels for the formal nights. I have a couple of suitable long dress Chesca & Phase Eight. Was thinking possibly Monsoon but not mad on it, any other suggestions? Also what is day wear like? Thanks in advance.

I haven't been on Cunard but been on Seven Seas and Regent and honestly anything goes. They aren't so formal anymore so just a smart dress for the dress up nights is fine. In the day absolutely anything.

Thank you so much for replying @ohthejoys21, that is really helpful to hear from another person, they have become a lot less formal. I haven't been on Cunard for several years. Have you been on Azamara? We did a few months ago and would recommend. Thanks again for the reply. Have a terrific afternoon.

I do a lot of Princess cruising and my feeling is that cocktail has largely replaced long dresses for formal nights, and the good trousers and ‘naice’ top combo has largely replaced dresses/little black dresses on normal nights in the main dining room

I was on QV in August and the dress code was more formal than on other lines. They also have themes for their gala nights which a lot of people dress to. Check for your sailing but mine were ‘Red & Gold’ & ‘Roaring 20s’

I got dresses matching both themes from Vinted for less than £20 each! Roman is worth a look too.

Whatever you wear, enjoy! Oh and I love Azamara too

Thanks no I haven't been on Azzemara, my sister in-law loves it too especially the food which is great as the food on cruises usually ruins the trip for me.

Thank you all for the replies, all really helpful. I will have a look at Roman thank you @Jellifer .

I was thinking nice trousers and top for the less formal evenings so that is really helpful @Sandwichgen.

I am getting excited already, shopping is a lot of the fun of going for me. I get everything out on the bed in the spare room, cull and then cull again. We are going from Southampton, so no weight limits!

Thanks again all.
