Cape Cod

Hi. We are looking at going to Cape Cod next August and I am completely lost on where to stay. We are 2 adults and a 14 year old. We would love to be walking distance to restaurants, bike or walk to a beach and a pool would be lovely. Budget about £2000 for a week. Some activities for my son would be good too.
Any advice would be amazing. Thank you

Ah, I love the Cape. I've spent a lot of time in Orleans and love it, nice cafes and restaurants, three great beaches close by, bike trails, mid Cape so easy for sightseeing. Welfleet is also gorgeous but probably more expensive, Chatham super fancy (and not great for swimming, lots of shark alert) but worth a visit. You'll have an amazing time!

It's lovely but expensive, I stayed at a friend's parent's place that rents for $1000 a night, thankfully they wouldn't take money from me!

We stayed Here as a recommendation from mumsnet. It is individual Chalet style cottages near to Chatham. Loved it so much. It’s a on a lake with a beach with a diving platform and not too far from the sea. We also cycled on a disused railway track and ate good meals.

We rented an air BnB in wellfleet. I think it was my favourite holiday with kids. So many wholesome things to do: biking, swimming in the kettle ponds, eating lobster rolls. The only thing that was really frustrating (apart from the prices!) was seeing the most incredible beaches ie Nauset, but not being able to get in the water as it's too sharky. I became obsessed with the shark spotting app.
