Has anyone been?

I’m thinking of going there by myself next year. It looks like a good place for swimming, walking and exploring the old town. It also meets my requirement of getting there by train.

Yes. I live not so far from there so have visited often. Is a lovely small town, lovely beaches ( the one I go to is pebbly) can’t remember if the one in town is. Lots of vineyards to visit, hiking along the calanques, swimming and boat trips. It maybe a bit small for a week ( for me -it’s quite small)but the train goes into Marseille ( a mixed bag but I am growing fond of marseille now) and in the other directions to la ciotat, bandol ( love this town and spend most weekends there).and onto Toulon and hyeres. Don’t know hyeres but spent a lovely morning in Toulon last weekend. So overall I think you will find plenty to do.

What do you love about Bandol @Lucylurker ?

We had a family holiday in Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mere last year. I really liked the area but thought a different town would have more to do. Hence Cassis. Bandol looks pretty.

It’s a bit bigger than Cassis. I know Bandol more I suppose and there’s always lots to do ( not saying there’s not enough in Cassis). Cassis is quainter probably. Both good choices but I have a holiday home in Bandol so know it better than Cassis.
You can visit other places on the train quite easily from both ( though I don’t actually know where the train station is in cassis) whilst I know it’s easy to get to in Bandol. Both would be good choices.
