Hello lovely ladies!! My friends and I are turning 40 in March. Due to babies etc we never did anything for our 30th... and each of us has lost someone v close in the past 2 years - my sister, 1 father and just recently 1 mother.
We would love to go away for a few days (maybe 3 night max).can anyone recommend somewhere to go in the Easter hols? We aren't hard-core goers so somewhere like Malaga is out... would love somewhere we could go out to dinners and bars in the evening, and either somewhere super relaxing or somewhere interesting in the day.... oh and we are on a budget 😆😆 TIA for any advice/ ideas xx

I was in Valencia last Easter and it was hot and beautiful. Hotel felt value for money and not too dear even the central ones. Near the beach, loads of galleries and history, set menus for good deals on food, quirky bars. I'd highly recommend for a weekend away!

I've just come back from a short stay in Barcelona - we stayed at a hotel on the coast a 30 minute train ride from the city. We spent the days exploring the city (and there is so much to do and see) and the late afternoons and evenings relaxing around the pool with a cocktail or two, then going for tapas as the sun set.

Ibiza, somewhere like Santa Elulia or Es Cana

Palma is absolutely lovely

Thank you so much - these all sound like fantastic suggestions. I shall get investigating!

Hi OP,

I am not in the UK, so cannot recommend specifics but often package holidays can be great for these trips so maybe check out one of the companies.

Malaga itself isn’t a party place.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/10/2024 06:07

I’m not sure why Malaga is out, it’s lovely. Lovely old town, lots to see if you like history etc, lots of lovely bars and restaurants, beach if you want it. It is perfect for what you say you want. Are you getting confused with somewhere else?

Are you going over the actual Easter holidays? Some more religious (catholic) countries close a lot of shops etc then.
