Often in May we have been to Greece because the weather is gorgeous but we are going this October so and also the flights for May half term are currently £600 PP return which I refuse to pay (it's £100 the week before). I just can't afford it.
This year we did Italy in August (HOT but nice). I'd like some 'interesting' ideas for a May half term break...
We could do an all inclusive pretty basic holiday to Menorca for £3500 so that's tbe benchmark price wise (up to £4000 for travel, accommodation and food). Can spend more on activites.
Has anyone got any ideas of places to go end of May that flights are not stupid prices to (Greece is too much, Spain also very high). We are open to ideas eg Scandinavia, Germany etc etc anywhere but would like it to be sunny (but not necessarily beach hot), just don't want a week of rain ideally and so I have ruled out the UK.
Kids are 13 and 10 so a bit older and up for activities, beach, shopping, cycling, a bit of walking etc. They like 'doing stuff' but equally would be happy with a water park and to sit reading books. Or maybe somewhere they could learn to surf/do watersports?
We did Barcelona recently which we all enjoyed but was a 4 day city break and I would like to go somewhere for at least a week and be less of a city vibe. We could go for up to 10 days so further afield is possible - just can't think where and I am looking for inspiration?!
