It's an AI holiday but will we need dollars to tip the staff?

We’ve been a couple of times and tend to just give a reasonable tip to the butler and housekeeper(s) at the end of our stay. It’s not usual to tip in the restaurants, but I did give a tip when I went to the spa.

Yes you'll need dollars to tip. Which island are you going to? :-)

Our first (and probably last!) time in the Maldives so very excited!

Do also check the details on your resort website or booking. The resorts we have stayed at state that tips for the staff are already included in the cost of the stay.

Yes, US Dollars to tip. Again normally just tip our butler and housekeeping

Have a wonderful time. It is one of the few places I have been that was just as stunning in RL as in photos

I emailed the resort and they replied that we don't need to tip!
We'll take some dollars anyway.

We've been to vilamendoo, we left some dollars in the room as we checked out, and on the table in the restaurant for our last meal. You get the same table all week for every meal and the same member of staff looks after you.
