Has anyone ever done this? We are a party of 7 aged from 12-80 and this is being mooted as an idea. It's unlikely we would get a car as told driving not a good idea so would be reliant on taxis/public transport to get around. Also no idea how easy it is to go to a supermarket and stock up on the sort of essentials a family of varying ages and tastes might require. Thanks.

If you stayed somewhere like Dubai Marina then there are at least 2 Supermarkets ( Spinneys which is like Waitrose) on The Walk and I think there is also a Carrefour in Marina Mall - or it might be another Spinneys). Food is expensive though and there isn't much choice especially of fresh food unsurprisingly as it's all imported. So you could do it but your meals would be a bit uninspiring.

Make sure it has a liquor licence if you want to drink in the villa.

Tourists don't need a liquor license I don't think
