Flights to Lisbon in February - now what?

I have flights booked for February for 6 nights to Lisbon. Kids will be 11 and 14.

I've just read the other thread about how awful Lisbon is. We have cancellable accommodation booked at a hostel with fantastic reviews.

Where would you stay instead? We could travel elsewhere by train?

I had planned to do day trips to Sinatra, Cascais, and Evora. The Earthquake museum sounded good, and the aquarium. Now I'm not sure I want to go!

Should we hop on a train to Porto instead?
Or should I just abandon my plane tickets?

Lisbon is very nice city. In Feb I wouldn't bother staying in cascais as it's mostly about the beach. Maybe do a day trip to cascais, easy on the train.
Definitely do a day trip to sintra and make sure you visit Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra. It's amazing.
There's loads to do in Lisbon you'll have a lovely time. It's annoying how hilly it is but it shouldn't be too hot in Feb so not horrible to wander and the underground and trams are easy. Uber/bolt is much cheaper there too so sometimes easier just to get a cab.

I spent about 4 days in Lisbon with my DC and we all loved it. We enjoyed the aquarium, art gallery, the trams, the cable car, the castle (and other viewing points). i recommended it to a friend and she didn't like it at all! We also spent 4 days in Porto and loved that too. Have a great time!

Thanks for those responses, I've been umming and ahing about whether to stay in a different place, e.g. 3 nights Porta, 3 nights Lisbon, but I think we might stick in Lisbon and take days trips, thinking Sintra (definitely Quinta la regaleira), Cascais and Evora (chapel of bones).

Definitely want to go to the Quake attraction, Belem, puppet museum and doll hospital look quirky, the aquarium, LX factory. The zoo is an option if we are bored, probably not the cable car after a few holidays in Austria.

Other ideas gratefully accepted.

Maybe 3 nights in Lisbon/Cascais and 3 in Porto.

I think Albufeira is quite build up but other parts of Algarve are very nice. It is a big risky going to a beach destination in winter.

We did a trip to Douro Valley and other places from Porto.

I love Portugal
