Half a day in Stockholm

I'm going to Stockholm this week for work. My first time in Sweden. I've got half a day spare - what should I do?

How long is half a day? Skansen is wonderful and not too far from the centre, but if you only have from 1:30pm after your meeting until 4pm when you have to set off for the airport then the Vasa Museum might be better.

Either way I recommend a sausage sandwich from here. Vegan options available. It's worth paying 1kr extra for an extra sausage.

You can take public transport using just your debit card. On the bus you tap it on the reader when you get on. On the tram a conductor comes round and you tap the card against their hand-held machine.

Water taxi from old town to Vasa Museum, then walk back along the marina and stop off for a coffee at one of the cafe's on a boat. Love love love Stockholm, so gorgeous!

Thank you! I think I'll have about 4 hours. Vasa Museum is not far from my hotel by the looks of things. Can't wait!

4 hours... hmmm. Have a read up on Skansen and maybe go there if it's a nice sunny day. DP and I were not expecting too much, but it was amazing. We left after 5 hours having seen about two-thirds of it.

The Vasa Museum is AMAZING. So is Skansen, but I too think you need a whole day there. We went twice when we were there for under a week, we loved it (I’d quite like to live in one of the houses).
