There are no beaches on Madeira and the only person I know who went there said it was the worst place he'd ever been to and would not recommend to anyone. Full of OAPs and only rocky outcrops where the beaches should have been. Not only that, but the island is really prone to mist and rain, hence it is so green. Be warned!
