Malta - at Christmas or Easter ?

Has anyone done this & could advise how much of Malta is 'open' at either time of year please? (I appreciate seaswimming will be 'out' but wondered about museums & other cultural attractions?) If not what is a good time of year to go for cultural festivals / religious Festas? Thank you

Easter! We had lovely weather, there's different events on, everything is open. Could imagine it will all be a little more dull watching these things in the cold at Christmas

We went in March last year and the attractions etc were open from a seasonal point of view (and indeed I went swimming in the sea!) but I guess the risk with Easter is when there's a major religious holiday people may be doing stuff to do with that.

Easter! Malta is quite rainy in winter, and when it rains it is really torrential. A week in Malta in the rain is going to be miserable.

You may well be able to swim in the sea at Easter - it will be like the UK in summer, so depends on your hardiness, but plenty of people do.

Oh yes actual Easter weekend there will be a lot of celebrations, fireworks and crowds - you either embrace it or stay in the hotel. You won’t be able to go round museums, get a walk-in table at a restaurant etc. But the week before and after will be fine.

Thank you. My Dd wants to snorkel/scuba dive. I'd like for us to take a boat trip or 2 (around the islands & poss day trip to Sicily). Is that open at Easter too?
