Can anyone recommend somewhere to stay in Paris, preferably quite central between Christmas and the New Year? I know I can look on Tripafvisor etc but recommendations on here always tend to be good. Budget is £200 per night.

If you don't mind a chain place, look at Novotel Paris Porte d'Orléans. It is right on the périphérique but the soundproofing is amazing and the rooms are really nice. Breakfast is a bit underwhelming, but it's Paris and you shouldn't be having a hotel buffet breakfast anyway. 😎

If you want something a bit more ooh-la-la and can stretch the budget a teeny bit (it's showing at around £250 on Booking), we love the Belloy Saint Germain. They have a self-service (honesty) bar, and when we were last there (pre-Covid) they also served complimentary champagne every evening from 6 to 7. The location is brilliant too, so much to see in that part of the Left Bank.

What is your budget?

We stayed last year at the Napoleon near the Arc & at Hotel des Artes in Montmartre.

@samarrange I am going to look at Le Belloy as that sounds fantastic. I love that area!

We got a fabulous deal at Hotel L’Echiquier Opera a couple of years ago. Really comfortable hotel with lots of nice little extras.

Great ideas - I'll take a look at them
