Where would a solo female traveller be safest, out of these places...?

India - specifically Delhi and Jaipur
Marrakesh
Istanbul
Egypt - Cairo, Luxor and Aswan

Please help settle an argument! On the one hand, the female in question is a savvy, experienced traveller who won't be out drinking or clubbing, on the other hand she doesn't use Uber (prefers public transport or walking) and likes exploring!

Thanks

I agree I have travelled extensively in Sri Lanka - very gentle and respectful people (mostly Buddist I think) - it has magnificent scenary, food, culture, history, beaches, hiking and really easy and cheap to get around.

Travelled to all but Egypt as a solo blonde traveller.

India was easiest/least hassle, I started in Kerela which is a good entry into India life. Then Istanbul and Marrakesh last but that still wasn’t bad. I never felt unsafe.

I’ve never fancied Egypt and that’s the destination I hear most negative comments about in terms of female respect and safety.

None of them are great for solo female travellers but India the best of the lot.

Females are not safe out alone in India. Fine inside hotels and shopping complexes but not outside.

I went to India by my own, and had a couple of hairy incidents but it was an incredible time. Not on your list but I also went to Guatemala on my own and went far off the tourist trail but felt safe and had an amazing adventure.

Yep, I’ve travel through Belize, Guatemala and Mexico and felt safe the whole time. Even had the members of the Mexican army carry my backpack up an embankment when I crossed a tiny river. But India stands out for me as the worst county I’ve ever visited as a women. The country I’d most love to visit is Egypt but I just know I couldn’t deal with the hassle from men.

I've spent a lot of time as a lone traveller in India. In major tourist places, I've never had any issues bar lots of staring, and lots of people begging (the latter is not gender or race specific, they do it to everyone). Certainly nothing like that hassle that I got in Marrakech. You just need to dress modestly and have your wits about you.

Went to Istanbul with DP, except he was on a work trip and I was just tagging along (work approved). He had lots of meetings and so I wandered round alone for ages, both sides of the Bosphorus, cafes, shops etc.
I suppose you could say I got a few stares but nothing I would class as remotely dangerous.
It's a great city.
