I've been googling all day and come up with nothing!

Dd turns 21 in February and I have a budget of about £250 for 1 or two nights somewhere. We're in the midlands and happy to drive/ train/ fly for a few hours in any direction.
She loves shopping, spa breaks, theatre, cocktails but also doesn't mind getting wet, muddy etc.
I was thinking of some kind of city break with spa in the day then theatre at night then shopping the next day but can't find anything suitable.
Any recommendations and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Check wowcher for hotel spa deals, they often have them on.

You'll struggle to go abroad for £250 total I think. If you can be flexible with dates in February, go on Skyscanner and set your departure airport, 'everywhere' for the destination, and then 'whole month' of February and see what comes back. Here's an example link if you're flying from Birmingham. You may have to do some trial and error to find the right trip length/departure times. There are sometimes very cheap flights.

Thanks- I'd discounted leaving the UK due to cost but happy to travel within England/ Wales.

I've just stayed here in the last couple of weeks and it's lovely! www.parsonagehotel.co.uk/ they often have vouchers on wowcher or Groupon which is what we did. They do a lovey buffet breakfast and there's a pub next door as well. There's a bus stop just down the road which gets into York centre in 20 minutes and you've got all the shopping and cocktails you like.

I've not stayed in Leeds city centre before as that's where we live but the crowne plaza is meant to be lovely and there's plenty of places to eat and drink and shopping wise there's trinity Leeds, John Lewis and Victoria quarter plus other shopping streets.

We really like The Crab and Lobster in Thirsk. Bird island is our fave and comes with a hot tub and sauna plus you can have massages in your room. The food is amazing. It's close to Fountains Abbey which is beautiful and Knaresborough which is a lovely village for a mooch and lunch.

I think you’d spend that on a spa and theatre without a hotel! . Maybe a day spa near home?

A day pass at Nirvana Spa with a travel lodge over night?

How about Cardiff. Voco st David's Cardiff bay is a lovely hotel with a spa. Cardiff bay is fab and you can look to see what is on at the Millennium centre. You can get the train into the centre with good shopping and some lovely places to eat.

I had a few days stay in Edinburgh via train.
Stayed in Premier Inn with view of the castle.
Went on a ghost tour.
Went to the old cinema just near the castle.
Plenty to see & do there.

Do the dock speed boat ride its fantastic, they take you on a nice sedate tour of the dock telling you all about it then if you are up for it they blast around a dock with no speed limit its fantastic.
