Hey all,

Wondering if anyone can be of help with travel plans.

We have a holiday booked to Italy next month, it's the first time we're going to Italy and are struggling to figure out how to get from Naples International Airport to Sant'Agnello near Sorrento.

We've heard it's best to book trains im advance but we're unsure which ones and what happens if our flight gets delayed or is late etc?

Any advice/guidance would be super appreciated.

Thanks in advance x

Take the bus. I took it from Sorrento to Naples Airport and it was comfortable - much better than the train!

We travelled by bus to Positano from Naples city. It stopped at Sorrento. Easy enough to do.

This is really helpful, thank you so much. Did you get around on buses and trains most the holiday?

Thank you,

Its our first holiday since just before Covid so we're a little anxious and not sure what to expect. During uoir holiday did you travel about on buses and trains? How did you find it?

Where in Sat agnello? Which hotel? If you get to the main train station in Naples the circumvesuvio train runs right to the main square for about 6 euros.

You can get a taxi just at the square if it’s on the hill with luggage or a lot are walkable from there.

We got the bus from the airport to Sorrento in April. it saved getting a bus into Naples and then a train, it was the service linked to above, and it looks like it stops in Sant’ Agnello so that would be the easiest way to travel. We then used the train to travel into Naples and for Herculaneum, Pompeii and Vesuvius, and a bus to get to Positano. It was really easy getting around.

We used the Circumvesuvio train a lot when we were in that area, think we might have got a bus from Naples airport to the city station, or maybe a taxi. Whatever we did we didn’t prebook anything and it wasn’t a struggle, so you should be able to just wing it. I found that part of Italy really easy to get around.

Yes. I got the train from Rome to Sorrento (changing at Naples). Circumvesuviana train is not comfortable!!

While there I took a bus tour plus a train trip to Ercolano (for Herculaneum). Then the airport bus to Naples.

I was there in late September and it was still really too hot for the day trip. I loved Sorrento except that the food seemed rather meh and a bit touristy; not as nice as previous parts of the holiday, in Rome and Florence.
