Sent my eldests passport off on 29th August for renewal. And still no update. Log in on the passport page just says awaiting documents. They said it can take up to 15 working days. Due on holiday 4th October. Anyone else in a similar boat ?

Did you send the old one with tracking? That way you would know if it has got to the passport office and is just waiting for your envelope to get to the top of the pile.

In my experience, with tracking, the Royal Mail says "Delivered" and then it can take 4 or 5 days before the Passport Office opens it. But after that you get a cascade of SMS messages as it goes through the various stages quite quickly. 🤞

@samarrange stupidly no I didn't track it. Bloody wish I had.

I applied for my youngests first passport weeks before and had no issues not tracking it so stupidly thought it would be ok 🤦🏽‍♀️

Agree, sounds like the documents have been lost. I renewed my own and my daughter's passports recently and documents were logged as received and the tracker updated the same day. I posted both special delivery to arrive by 1pm and we got the SMSs from the passport office showing they'd been received before 5pm. As a PP said, it might take more than a couple of days to do this but it wouldn't a month. Sounds like you'll need to contact the passport office for advice.

I got mine back in 5 days recently.
