Afternoon.

Has anyone visited Disneyland Paris in December?

We have been before and over Halloween period however just wanted to know what December is like.
Too over crowded?
Weather? I know it changes year on year.
Go for Halloween again instead?

W/C 16th December so week before schools close (U.K.) - I think.

Thanks.

It’s incredibly cold but if you wear the right clothes (thermal base layers, fleece, down-filled jacket, hat, gloves and winter boots) then the weather isn’t too much of an issue because lots of the ride queues are undercover and there are plenty of indoor attractions. It’s extra-magical in the run up to Christmas but everyone else thinks so too and therefore the queues can be colossal. If you go prepared to queue, then you’ll be fine. The decorations and Santa himself were just unforgettable.

@Forgottenmyphone thank you for getting back to me.

Is Santa that all the way through December?
Do you remember anything called lighting the tree ceremony or something?

Yes, we went 8th-12th December and Santa was at his designated area for a meet at greet. You just queue up as normal. He also appeared at the Christmas Parade was is twice a day during the whole Christmas period (which starts in November).
I’ve read that this year there’s a new Christmas parade which involves tree lighting, which may mean there won’t be the standalone tree lighting ceremony in the Town Square each evening.

We were there the week before Christmas and I don’t remember crowds - all I remember is how bloody freezing it was. It has to be the coldest place I have ever been. Take your thermals and some very thick socks.

We went early December and it was great. I didn’t think it was that cold at all, totally manageable with good thermals and coats.

My favourite time. I love it when it’s cold at DLP. Fabulous.

We went over Christmas one year and I spent a fortune buying thermals, thick socks, gloves etc for everyone. It never went below 10 degrees and we didn't wear any of it. Was colder when we went at Easter and it rained all the time.

@EveryoneButSam this was me 1st Jan !! Purchased so much stuff and we never used it. I went the first week of Jan not December however everyone said it would be freezing.
Maybe it was all the walking in the day.

Thank you everyone for writing.
We have been for Halloween and Jan time just not December.
