May half term- Canaries or Crete/ Greek island

Hi all
We had a wonderful holiday in Kefalonia last year (me and my 2 kids who will be 9 and 14) by May half term.
Things we loved

  • really varied food
  • trip round the island
  • pools weren't overly busy- they like to swim with the odd inflatables not bothered by slides
  • wandering round small towns and villages
Things I don't want to do
  • hire a car
  • have more then 2 hours transfer time

I've been thinking Crete or Furventura- I've been to both but along time ago.

Any suggestions welcomed- thank you

If you are after varied food and wandering around small towns and villages, the answer should be pretty obvious if you have been to Fuerteventura.

Thanks I just wasn’t sure how much the island may have changed since I last went

Koutouloufari in Crete is wonderful, three villages within easy walking distance, fabulous tavernas

Thank you I'll take a look, I know it's a broad question I asked but as soon as I mention kids people seem to think I want slides and kids clubs
