Help me plan a 10 day itinerary from Lisbon, Portugal

Hi. We are planning on going to Portugal in October. We are thi king about hiring a car and staying I different places. We want to start in Lisbon and finish near enough to the airport for our return. Can anyone e recommend places that are well worth visiting or staying at please.

Can you fly out of somewhere else (Porto)?
Could do Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, Porto, the place south of Porto that's like Venice (begins with A), and the Douro valley to Pinhao. All very doable by train and 10 days would be long enough.
I'd stay 3 or 4 nights in Cascais (for Lisbon and Sintra etc), 3 in Porto, 3 in the Douro valley and possibly 1 last night in Porto if your flight is early.

The suggestions above are all great. I’d add Monserrate Palace, near Sintra, and Peneda-Gerês National Park which is about an hour’s drive from Porto if you can fit it in.

We stayed about 45 mins north of Lisbon last year & loved it. Obidas is worth a visit & there's a Buddha park nearby which is amazing.. We also loved Santa Cruz on the coast 👌
