We really like Cala D'Or. Our hotel was near the beach with swimming pool and plenty of shade. I also liked the beach because you could find plenty of shade. (Sun lovers could sit in the sun-it wasn't all shade).

Thanks Abbey. I am quite tempted by the Cala D'or one tbh, the resort itself seems lovely although the apartments dont have great reviews. Sadly we dont have much choice left this year so may have to grin and bear it!
Are there nice restaurants and somewhere to walk out in the evening?

We're staying at the Playa Ferrera apartments.

I dont think its very high in stars but it was one of few that had a 3 bed apartment and we need it because theres 3 adults and 4 children .

I certainly check it out for you.

Many thanks

Have seen something else nice too in Mojacar (Costa Almeria) but never heard of it, looks lovely though.

Its between that and the Prinsotel in Cala D'Or now, I'm just over the moon we've found something in our price range

It is quite a long time since we went. We were in a hotel so we didn't eat out anywhere. You can have a nice walk out in the evening-I think there was a Marina. Our DCs were quite small and not too keen on walking, so we just tended to go along the beach .We were very lazy and alternated between the beach and hotel pool. The bay was narrow and it was quite a distance to open sea so very safe for inflatables.

Cala D'or not quite as nice as it was when I first went 14 years ago but I still like it and have been 3 times since (with & without children). Lots of good restuarants and streets to stroll in.

Cala D'or has happy memories for us, DH proposed on the beach there, in the moonlight, would have been wonderful if he hadn't been drunk at the time
