Corfu and Paphos

Hi!

We always book our summer holidays the October before and this is the first year we can't agree on where to go.

It's a toss up between Corfu Greece and Paphos Cyprus.

Does anybody have any recs of hotels they have recently stayed at in those places? We usually do AI but are thinking of bed and breakfast next year. That's not 100% though.

We are a family of 4. Dc will be 11 and 8 next summer.

TIA!

I've been to both Paphos and Corfu and Corfu is by far my favourite.

I recently went to Terezas Sunset in San Stefanos in Corfu - we stayed half board and it was great. Lovely sandy beach within a two min walk. Food great.

My favourite part of Corfu is Kalami Bay but the only hotel I've stayed in was adult only. We usually book a villa or an apartment. Kassiopi and Nissaki are also nice.

I really can't recommend Paphos as it just wasn't our kind of place. I have friends who love it and go every year staying at the Aliathon through Tui.

The hotel we stayed in ( Louis Phaethon ) was good but as an all inclusive was quite noisy and busy. Food was great for a buffet

I can only help you with Corfu. We've been to both Kalami and Kassiopi. Both are stunning. But if your kids are used to AI they will die of boredom in Kalami. It may be very beautiful but it's also very quiet.

Kassiopi is very pretty and has a bit more going on. Lots of restaurants around the harbour and regular boat trips to other parts of the Island and other Islands. You can hire a boat to explore the stunning coves in the area. Beaches in both villages are pebble.

Have to add that if you like hotels with lots going on for the kids your won't find either in Kalami or Kassiopi. Accommodation tends to be either Villa, Bed & breakfast boutique hotels or family friendly Self Catering.

@fridaynight1 my kids were same age as OP'a the first time we took them to Kalami and they absolutely loved it.

They enjoyed jumping off the jetty, we rented a pedalo , tried paddle boarding and they practiced snorkelling. We rented a boat two days so they could snorkel and explore the different coves and bays.

We took water taxis to different places to eat or drove into Kassiopi for the evening for a bit more life.

Corfu town is a nice day out too.

We have stayed at the Avanti Village in Paphos 3 times and can highly recommend it. They have apartments that sleep 4 and we have always done b&b, I think you can get dinner at the sister hotel if you wanted half board.

Lots of restaurants around the resort and its a short walk to the marina where there are loads of restaurants and shops. There are some great day trips you can do too. Weather is great in October.

Your DC are similar ages to mine when we first went, they are now 16 and 20 and would go back for sure, we all loved it!

Just seen you book in Oct for the summer, not going in Oct! We have been in summer too and it was fab.
