Connections to Japan and time

Looking at booking flights to Japan next year. Many of the flights have an hour and a half to make the connection in Dubai or Amsterdam. Is this enough? I'm so stressed trying to find the right flights!

Fly direct if at all possible. A 90 minute transfer time is the bare minimum and should not readily be accepted.

Can't find any direct flights at all.
