Sri Lanka weather in October

Looking to book a cycling holiday in Sri Lanka for next month but can't quite make out how rainy it's going to be. Anybody travelled there in October and can maybe give me an idea of weather please.
Don't mind a bit of rain but don't want it raining every day. Trip will be about two weeks long.

Where abouts? weather varies a bit and it's much cooler in the hill country.

It will be in the hill regions. I'm not so worried about temperatures as much as rainfall. We will be cycling the majority of days and cycling in wet kit and shoes all day gets a bit tiresome after a few days.
I do not mind some rain but having cycled in Vietnam with more than 50% rain days, i am looking for a drier trip but would still like to do Sri Lanka. I can pick a different country but SL is top of the list.
If you do know about rainfall, when would be the better time to go?
