Hi

Looking at booking an AI holiday for early Oct for a family of 4 (kids 1 & 3 yrs old).

Want to keep flight time short so have been looking at Majorca as there are good flights from our nearest airport.

We haven’t done an AI holiday before (normally do Airbnb) and want to book a 5 star hotel but keep the week around £3k.

I think i’ve narrowed it down to TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar or Zafiro Palace Alcudia - any info to help me decide would be greatly appreciated. 😊

If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the best hotels Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

😎Protur Bonaire Aparthotel, Cala Bona

😎Zafiro Palmanova, Palmanova

😎Insotel Cala Mandia Resort, Porto Cristo

I don't know anything about those two hotels but when my daughter was around that age we went to a hotel called protur Bonaire in cals bona it was absolutely amazing.

We also did stay in a zafiro hotel before. Not the one you have mentioned. It was the zafiro hotel in Palma Nova The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and loads for that age.

We just got back from a holiday in a zafiro (not the exact one you mentioned but all very similar) with a 4 year old. Literally perfect for families, so much for kids to do. We loved it and it’s our second time at a zafiro. Wouldn’t hesitate going back.

Thank you. There seems to be loads of Zafiros in Majorca 😅not sure where to start with which ones to look at. Looking for a 5 star hotel so maybe only some are?

Will look at the protur Bonaire (the Sensatori is protur too)

If you're looking at Majorca take a look at Insotel Cala Mandia, it's a 4/5 star hotel and the facilities are absolutely lovely. We stayed with our children and couldn't fault it.

I’ve been to the biomar and I wouldn’t return. The area around hotel isn’t great and the entertainment was very quiet. I went when it was half board. My SIL has been recently and said food has gone down hill since it’s become all inclusive. Stopped at the Zafiro palace in andratx was great so imagine the Alcudia one is too!

Thanks all, booked a Zafiro hotel now for the end of Sept. Found out that a good friend went to the Biomar though and they had a lovely time. Hopefully we will enjoy the Zafiro though. :)

@autumnsun12 came to this after googling the Zafiro. Did you enjoy it? Was it warm enough in October?

Goonergirl14 · 04/05/2026 22:52

Not been to a zafiro hotel in Majorca but did stay in the Zafiro Menorca last year and for young kids it was fab. Fab pools, entertainment etc, can imagine all the Zafiros are the same

TTCbabynumber22025 · 04/05/2026 22:56

It was 4 years ago but I love the Zafiro Palace Alcudia, the food and cocktails were the best I’ve had in an AI and it’s close to the town
