Hotel Recommendations Harry Potter Studio Tour Watford

Looking for recommendations for a nice hotel (independent or chain would be ok), a family room with actual beds for the children, not a sofa bed to share close to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Preferably north of Watford off the M1.
2 adults 2 children age 14 and 9. No budget.
If it has a pool/spa, that would be perfect!
I would consider booking 2 twin rooms, an adult and child, to each room if what I'm looking for doesn't exist.
Thank you

The Grove is very close but is super ££££. They have family rooms with a king size bed, bunk beds and a sofa bed.

Also has an amazing spa. Is usually used as the base hotel for the England football team.

There’s also Sopwell House by St Albans but not sure the family room bedding set up.

The Grove is lovely but expensive.
There's a few premier inns locally.
De vere Hunton park is built basically on the same plot of land as Warner brothers.
The two brewers is close by and in a nice location.
If you want a town location for train/bus then Watford is the closest, there's loads of chain hotels etc there

I'll have a look at those. Thank you

Anywhere close to Watford and North London is going to be expensive and often sold out.

When my family visited the Harry Potter Studio we stayed in Milton Keynes. The hotels were far less expensive than those closer to London (there are many in the city centre close to the railway station) and the train to Watford Junction took 20 minutes. From the station there is a free shuttle bus to the Studio. We could also have driven there in less than half an hour.

We also spent time shopping - the CMK Mall is in the city centre, 5 minutes from the hotels - and as we had a car we did a day at Woburn Safari Park, which is 10 minutes from MK. And for something completely different we drove to Stoke Bruerne, walked along the canal, took a boat trip and visited the canal museum.

We stayed in the closest premier inn with a car park. It was fine.

Milton keynes is at least an hours drive but there is quite alot to do in that area.
If you want something closer but cheaper then there is Hemel Hempstead, they have premier inn, travelodge and holiday inn. The one on the bypass has a pool. There's the snow centre, cloud 9 (inflatable park) and the xc (indoor climbing, skate arena)
