Taking HRT and other medicines on a flight to Spain?

Hello
I'm heading off on a short holiday to Majorca and wondering whether I need to put my HRT spray into one of those clear bags for liquids.
Also I'm taking painkillers for a recent and healing back injury (cocodamol and amitriptyline). The information online is pretty confusing. Do I need to do anything more than original packaging and the prescription?
Thanks and happy holidays!

Yes put the spray in the bag and have your painkillers in your hand luggage. I usually take the prescription too but didn't have it the last time so made sure it was in the box with the printed label in. I've never had my medication checked ever.

Are you hand luggage only?

I just put my hrt gel in my checked luggage.

I only had hand luggage and took HRT gel in its packaging with the pharmacy sticker on.I had the prescription to hand but had no problems.

I only take hand luggage so hrt gel and mountjaro pen just go in my handbag. I fly every month x 2.

I take insulin and always have it in hand luggage and never had an issue. Needles too - I just leave them in the case they come in.

In a clear bag and all in hand luggage.

And make sure you have told your travel insurance

Thanks. What do I need to tell the travel insurance? I have an annual multitrip policy which I got months ago...

That you are on HRT and especially about the back injury - even with annual policies you have to update if you have seen the doctor, HRT hasn't increased my premium at all.

You can take medicine over 100ml if you have the prescription. If the spray is under 100ml then it'll be quicker to put it in the tray with the other liquids.

Take as many prescriptions as you can find in case you need to get more of any medicine. As long as it's legible you can get a prescription refilled in any pharmacy. But don't worry if you don't have any given prescription, as you can bring any "obviously prescription" medicines (sprays, blister packs, etc) with you and customs won't mind as long (as it's not 500g of ketamine in a plastic bag). And customs won't stop you anyway at Palma.

Make sure you have a GHIC for each member of your family and that you know where the nearest public health centre is. If you ask your hotel for medical help, whether a doctor or an ambulance, they will often call someone private because they get commission. Of course your travel insurance might cover that, but they might not if it's a medical condition that existed on the day of travel, whereas the public system has no such exclusions.
