Anyone done a festive day trip to Lapland?

Just that really!
I'm looking into the feasibility of arranging this as a surprise for my 8 year old son. We'd be flying from Manchester and ideally on a Saturday. Due to financial and time restraints it's not workable for me to go for longer, hence my interest in one of the advertised day trips.
Interested to hear anyone's experiences of doing all this in a day... Realistically speaking, do you fit enough in to make it worthwhile? Are you collected from the airport on arrival and taken around on a fixed itinerary then returned to the airport in the evening? Did you find it ok, or too rushed?
Thanks for anyone willing to sharing their experiences :)

I hope you get some helpful responses! I’ve booked to take my daughter on a festive day trip this year… my understanding is there is a planned itinerary with activities divided into small groups. All transfers/clothing included. We are very excited!

i was last year in one of the many Lapland related groups and there were several people doing it

one of the cons of this is that if the plane gets delayed / cancelled then the whole trip is ruined. Some people got offered to change dates

many people liked it but they felt the tasters were too short so they ended up booking for another longer trip.

I went for 4 days and loved the trip. I did it all DIY so can’t help with this type of trip. But id def recommend you to search Lapland in fb groups and joining them
