Cheers boys! Did you walk round a particular way to avoid the crowds?

We went about a month ago. the butterfly house is lovely. No other tips, just go and have a lovely time. Allow plenty of time.

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/04/2008 22:40

HOw are you paying?

Kellogs are doing free child entry token ATM. Could be worth stopping at Tesco on your way...even if you through teh cornflakes in teh bin.

It shouldn't be too crowded at this time of year. There's the new bird attraction too (can't remember its name). It's bloody expensive to get in.

maidamess · 17/04/2008 22:42

Coo Slightly thanks for that! we eat our body weight in cereal most days here so it won't go to waste!

It is free child entry at lots of Zoos.

Whipsnade is on there - so I expected London Zoo is because they are essentially the same ownership.

We just wandered where we did, no plan just ambling around

I've just found a 'days out in London' website where you print off 2 for 1 entry tickets for the zoo, if you are travelling by train. That seems too good to be true!?

We should have done that. We spent a fortune getting in. close to £50 for the four of us.

maidamess · 17/04/2008 23:12

I'll let you know if they let me in with these vouchers!

Had a lovely freezing day. I despatched dh to Sainsburys this morning to buy packets of Kelloggs and so we saved about £26! Not bad eh?

Thanks very much Slightly for the voucher tip off

Hope you gave the cafe prices a wide berth !

maidamess · 18/04/2008 17:21

Ohhh yes. I took my lakeland lunch cubes (also recommended by MN, how sad am I) for kids and soup in a flask for me. which unfortunately had gorn stone cold by lunchtime but hey ho!

NOt bad at all.

couple of quids worth of cereals which won't go to waste....and you get a halfish price day out.

Bargain.

We were planning to go to Whipsnade on 24th, but it appears DTDs teachers are not striking in a twisted way.

We have a few vouchers so we may do Twycross to by the end of the year.
