Who do you use for travel insurance? Would you recommend them and is it single or multi-trip insurance?

I generally just use comparison websites and go with the best deal. But be sure to read all the policy conditions first! Especially important if you're travelling to a far-flung country or going away for a long time.

It's worth noting that you will need to go with a specialised provider if you are already overseas and want to extend your trip, visit another country or do an activity that isn't covered.

I have an annual policy with Admiral. It was a good price and is worldwide (excluding US and Canada). It’s hard to say if I’d recommend it as fortunately I haven’t had to claim.

Mine is through my bank. DH is an old git and is no longer covered by our bank insurance, so I took out his insurance with Saga.

I used comparison website for husband and daughter for our recent trip. My older daughter has been traveling alot more so has an admiral year policy - which even at renewal was cheaper!

I have an issue with me - hard to get coverage. Due to an illness treated over 25 years ago It impacts my insurance- for example it was £27 to cover husband and daughter - for me was £125 for single trip extra using a specialist insurance company! I’m not even likely to suffer the illness ever again - but insurance companies don’t like insuring me!

Likewise, and we get a discount as we have other policies with them.

Ours is via the Bank. It’s Allianz. We have had to claim and had no issues. It covers USA and worldwide. It’s annual and multi trip but like many, there are restrictions on length of trip.
