Is it worth getting one that lasts from 9months till age 11 or will it be worn out/full of crap etc by the time she is 4 anyway......?

The ones up to 11 tend not to be particularly comfy for a baby . We have the Britax Evolva 123 ultra which is great for toddler onwards but might swamp a little one and doesn't really recline. If you may have another baby I'd go for a proper Stage 1 anyway as you can move them on at more appropriate stages and just replace the cover if needs be.

if you cant have isofix (which are the safest of all)

go for a maxi cosi tobi which is the safest non isofix seat

masxi cosi priori is pretty good too
