Hotel with cooking facilities by sandy beach

Really grateful for any ideas for the following requirements:

  • sandy beach very close (walkable with young kids)
  • flight time ideally under 3 hours from London
  • hotel offering AI or half board but with ability to cook if needed and supermarket type shops nearby
  • kids have SEN and can’t use a kids club and anything hugely busy would be difficult but ideally with some child facilities / play areas
  • Hotel food options include plain food (by which I mean options for fruit, salad, plain pasta, chips, bread)

budget wise I think we could do £3k for 2 adults and 2 kids.
would love to go for a week if possible in May or October but would do fewer nights if budget couldn’t stretch.

thanks to anyone who can help or who can point me in the right direction!

The villas at Pine Cliffs in Portugal. In October it’s a lovely temperature. The have a kids park, kids pools, access to the beach, restaurants, shops nearby. Has everything you need.

Headland hotel, Newquay - the cottages are brilliant. Self catering or with breakfast, and three restaurants to choose from for other meals. My kids love the one by the pool.

I just came back from Lagos de Fanabe beach resort in Tenerife. The flight is a bit long though.

Thanks so much everyone. I’ll check these all out.

If the children would enjoy something simpler with a quieter pace, they might like the Isles of Scilly. It would work with your budget in the months you have mentioned.

They might like splashing about on the beach, seeing the seals etc.

There are shops where you can buy food and beaches galore.

The main island of St Mary's would probably be best for you because of the proximity to the shops, but I have added Tresco, a much quieter island, just in case.
