I'm paralysed by choice and could do with some advice please.
We are thinking of going to Sardinia with our kids in the first week of June. The kids will be 5 and 8. We will fly into Olbia and will hire a car. We prefer self catering accommodation: our budget for accommodation is up to £1,500 which I think will be plenty.
There are two bits we are stuck on.
- Which area to stay in. I hear the area around Olbia has sensational beaches, and we have found a holiday house that looks good, but is the north east coast very pretentious and expensive to eat out? We aren't bothered about going anywhere very flash, particularly if it's going to make eating out much more expensive. (The alternative is the north west of the island which we've been to before and though was great but it's a longish drive from the airport).
- Whether we would use a pool enough to justify the extra cost. Last time we did a sun holiday we had a pool, which worked well - we went out exploring in the morning then played in the pool in the afternoons. This sounds nice but obviously is a non essential. I'm also not sure whether it would be warm enough to use it in early June - last time we went to Sardinia it was late July.
Anything else to bear in mind?
Thank you in advance!
