I have bought some nice Spanish ham, chorizo etc to give to my brother to take back to UK for my family (I live in Spain)He's only taking hand luggage. Can he take meats like this on the aeroplane out of Spain to UK?

It cost me a fortune. I hope so!

great news!

It's quite a lot of stuff - long chorizo, big wad of ham, massive block of cheese.I hope they don't think he's gonna set up shop there! I hope quantity isn't a problem.

It's all vacuum packed, we were gonna send nice rioja too but no liquids is a real shame!

Vacuum packed stuff is fine.

This issue comes under DEFRA's auspices these days. The above website gives more information. www.defra.gov.uk also has a section on its main page re food imports.
