Mid October, Europe, scuba diving

We usually go to the Canary Islands from October onwards but fancy a change.

Looking for a week in Europe for 2 adults at a nice (not luxury ££££) hotel where there's decent scuba diving close by.

Temperature wise 22-26° would be perfect (hence why we usually head to the Canaries) but has anyone been elsewhere in Europe mid October and had decent weather that isn't a fluke?

I'm thinking the Algarve may be too cool, as will the Greek islands. Any ideas please?

Gozo. Blue Hole, Inland Sea, wrecks at various depths, underwater rock formations, an underwater chamber that's open so lit (can't remember the name)

Stay in Marsalforn, there's about half a dozen dive shops that will take you all over the island for dives, and also a day trip to Comino for the caves and wreck.

Also loads of places to get great pizza and other food too. For any non diving days the main town is worth a wander around and there's also some ancient ruins.

Sounds good, thanks @Bjorkdidit. I didn't realise Malta/Gozo would still be that warm then. I'll see what's available.

Husband put off by the long transfer to Gozo as he wants to basically arrive and relax (hence looking for Europe only flight times). It's his first proper break this year so is a bit burnt out.

Any other ok ideas for Europe in mid October that will be warm where there's decent scuba diving?

Malta itself is good for scuba diving, I dived over Easter once and not overly warm but was pleasant enough but October will be warmer.

Off the coast of Genoa has good diving in Portofino marine park

I can’t remember the name unfortunately but there’s a place near costa Brava / Barcelona that’s renowed for diving that’s been on my want list.

plenty of dive opportunities in Spain, murcia might be good and will be warm October and will give you the balance between diving and chilling

The place in Spain could be the Medes Islands from Estatit or L'Escala. Fly to Girona.

Malta is good for diving too, but Gozo really is worth the trip and is more laid back, but most Malta based dive companies will do weekly trips to Gozo and Comino.

I just popped on to say Gozo. Please reassure your dh that the transfer is worth it!

Don't know about scuba diving possibilities, but Cyprus is warm enough at that time in October.

All good ideas, thanks. Will look into staying on Malta and dive trips to Gozo.

Cyprus could work too as there's the underwater statues.

Cyprus would be the best bet for warm weather. Most other places in Europe are into autumn and while you might get warm sunny weather you could also get rain.
