Help! I’m usually terrible at booking holidays - stingy, don’t prioritise it, and frankly find holiday research so dull, so leave it til the last minute - but typically we do UK caravans and lodges or (occasionally) Northern European (France, Holland, euro camp type stuff) with a ferry self catering.
However we’ve had a crap summer, with no holiday due to all sorts of scary health issues, and would like to do something nice for October half term. Torn between taking the kids (three of them age 6-12) somewhere cultural (Barcelona? Although pre children I’ve been several times before) or doing a resort type holiday where we might all have a long needed chance to relax (but is that straightforward as a family of 5 where everything is designed for families of 4).
Any thoughts/recommendations? £5k would be more than I’ve ever spent on a holiday before but could stretch more than that for the right idea. Southern England or London flights, but open to ferry/tunnel/whatever. I don’t really know where to start…
