4 nights, Europe, 2 kids 7 and 10 - Barcelona off the cards until the new Nou Camp is open but all suggestions welcome and appreciated. Travel Man doc makes us feel spoiled for choice - Berlin ? Rome?

We went to Rome in February half term with two teens. Definitely the best city break we've done with them. Lots of very varied stuff to do and see, regardless of age. Food good value and extremely child friendly. We made extensive use of the bus service for some of the longer journeys. The weather was fabulous as well.

Berlin is a brilliant city and great for teens, but maybe 7 is a bit young? No experience of taking younger kids there, so I could be wrong, but a lot of the sights are war-related and perhaps better suited to older kids. Also I don't know whether a 7 year old would appreciate the sheer 'coolness' of the city.

Four nights is a good amount of time, so I'd definitely go for one of the big ones. We've had lots of great trips to smaller cities, but they wouldn't fill that length of time easily.

We did Rome in October half term last year with pre and young teens - Amazing!

Really good weather, not too hot, and so much to see. We all loved it.

Last October we stayed in Pompeii and visited Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius.

We also went to Rome (we were in Italy for a week).

I’m taking DS(10) to Munich this October. The weather won’t be so good but there’s lots to do.
