Anyone flown from the UK to Singapore with Singapore Airlines, who can tell me what to expect?

I can't find anything online. I am wondering what food and drink to expect. Is wine free, or can you buy some? Thanks!

If you’re in economy - wine and beer is free, as are soft drinks and juices.

Their flight meals are okay and usually enough food. They usually do a Western, South Asian and East Asian menu choice. Usually you get a main, bread roll and butter, cheese & crackers and a dessert. Their seat back entertainment is good and I’ve always found their aircrew to be really helpful and kind.

Assuming economy ,there is usually a more western option and a more Asian option ( usually Chinese) at each meal and they will serve drinks before dinner and then with dinner. They are a good airline and Changi is amazingly efficient.

Thanks! Yes, we are in Economy but we have the extra legroom seats next to the galley, with LOADS of space in front. Was wondering whether you can purchase bottles of wine, as I like several glasses on a flight 😂

You can book meals in advance if you have preferences. Singapore airlines are great, lovely staff and the airport as others have said is v smooth experience

Remember to do your SG arrival card - can be done whilst waiting to leave the UK but will be faster the other side if you don’t leave it until you get there as there are typically zero immigration queues

You can’t buy bottles of wine as it’s a safety/RSA issue. You’ll need to request each glass individually.

Just a heads up that Singaporeans tend to be more cautious around alcohol than Brits (a vast sweeping statement but holds true on flights). They will serve you a couple of glasses but don't expect free flow!

But yes look at Book the Cook option of food, and make sure you fill in an arrival card. If you're only transitting Changi has a huge amount of options to keep you entertained.

Just a heads up that Book the Cook isn’t an option for economy passengers, it’s only dietary preference meals (vegetarian/low salt etc) that can be pre-ordered.
