Mosquito repellent??

Can anyone recommend a mosquito repellent that actually works?
Seen stuff about palmers cocobutter working?
Avon so soft?
Mainly for the kids really as I don't want they getting bitten! The jungle formula stinks 😷 any recommendations please? Going to Majorca Cala d'or

We usually wait until we get to our destination and then go to a local pharmacy who will recommend something that’s used in that area.

Agree with PP. Best repellents are the local ones

Something with Deet in it. Along with the bracelets. A plug in room repellent is good. I've just been on holiday and this was the first time in decades I didn't get bitten.

@williteverstopraining2024 Mosquito Milk. Used to get lots of bites but none since using this. It's a roll on so easy to apply.

But DEET is banned in some countries, you end up with nothing stronger than citronella oil.

Picaridin is the best I've found, isn't smelly or sticky like DEET.

Definitely something with DEET.

I’ve bought Goibi from Spanish pharmacies - effective, not sticky and smells fine.

I would have always said the 50% deet, that's what we always used. My daughter went to Costa Rica, volunteering in rainforest for a month, her auntie gave her Avon skin so soft, lots of her friends got bitten really badly ...she got a couple of nips... she thinks it was due to the Avon skin so soft, they all had the deet then she sprayed that lightly over the top! Might be worth a try x
